A native of Denmark, Lars Kronmark helped open the CIA at Greystone in 1995 and has been involved with its annual Worlds of Flavors International Conference and Festival since its inception. He was awarded the prestigious Antonin Carême medal from the ACF Chefs of the Pacific Coast and was voted Chef of the Year by the Cordon d’Or Gold-Ribbon Academy. His interest in wine developed over the past two decades, culminating with recognition as a CIA Certified Wine Professional. In addition to conducting wine-related cooking classes, Chef Kronmark also participates in events at local wineries and has been involved with the Napa Valley Wine Auction for more than 20 years. He has also worked in the wine regions of Southern Australia as guest chef-instructor. Chef Kronmark makes his own wine with grapes grown at his home in St. Helena as well as at the CIA.
